It’s a scientific fact: baby swimming promotes mental and physical development. This is because movements are possible in the water that toddlers are not yet capable of on land. “Carefully moving back and forth during baby swimming, for example, acts like a massage for the skin. At the same time, it supports the formation of nerve cells. This also increases the ability to move on land,” explains midwife Tschauner. Water gymnastics is also a playful and effective therapy for children whose motor development is delayed or for premature babies. “The water pressure not only has a positive effect on the skin, but also on the joints and muscles,” says Tschauner. Babies can move independently with the SWIMTRAINER from the age of 12 weeks using the so-called innate “frog reflex”.
